Herb Infused Cocktail ~ Crimson Veil

A request has been made for a cocktail and we are here to fulfill that request.  I’m part of a local Book club and we always have fun gathering together to chat about the selected book of the month.  This month’s book is Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli.  A fantasy enemies to lovers trope that will keep you engaged until the last page.

A feature in this book happens to be blood, no vampires, but witches who use blood for magical purposes.  Therefore, this drink utilizes blood oranges.  Blood oranges are a delicious fruit typically found in early fall. I wasn't able to track any down this time, but they're out there. For this batch, I'm using Cara Cara oranges instead. Not as dark as the blood oranges but just as delicious, and they create a gorgeous sunset color.

Blood and Bloom

2 ounces Vodka Blood Orange

¾ ounce Hibiscus Syrup

1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice

1 ounce Blood Orange Juice

Garnish with blood orange or hibiscus

Add all ingredients to a shaker cup filled with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is extra cold. Strain into a glass and garnish.

Mocktail Version

2 ounce Blood Orange Juice, fresh

1 ounce Hibiscus Syrup

1 ounce Lime Juice

Sparkling Water

Garnish with blood orange slice or hibiscus

Add everything but the sparkling water into a shaker cup.  Shake vigorously until the outside is very cold.  Pour into a glass and garnish.

Themed drinks are so much fun to create and drink.  If your event has a theme let us help create a drink for your guest to enjoy.  Signature cocktails put the “cherry on top” of an already wonderful day for you and your guests.

We hope you will give this cocktail a try and when you do be sure to have a designated driver to drink responsibly.  Cheers!
