Uncorked Sulphur Springs is almost here. Just two short days before the Celebration Plaza will be filled with vendors from all over and wineries for the State of Texas. Saturday, October 10 from 1 p. m. to 7 p.m. visitors can enjoy wine, food, music, and art. Downtown Sulphur Springs will be hopping with excitement and fun for the whole family.
This year Uncorked is supporting Pink Light Birth, which is a non-profit that supports pregnancy, postpartum and education for mom and baby. Emily Schendel is a native Sulphur Springs resident who has found a passion for mom and baby. Her services go beyond being a certified Doula, and include overall support for women in need, who have no other family or local support system. Her organization's goal is to help educate and support women in the pregnancy journey.
Uncorked is excited to support Pink Light Birth with a donation at the end of the festival and continue to support Emily with classroom space and acknowledgement throughout the community. With that Uncorked is excited to announce another new partnership this year with Common Grounds, a run club that is starting to gain traction in the community and is hosting a morning run around Buford park at 8:30 a. m. Saturday morning. All run participants will receive a free t-shirt, medal and wine festival ticket, for $30. Be sure to grab your ticket and lace up your running shoes and hit the pavement with other members of our community.
Once you are refreshed after your run, head on down to Celebration Plaza for the wine festival and music. There will be seven wineries featured this year, from around Texas. Each winery will offer wristband holders tastings for $1 each. Be sure to bring those dollar bills and taste away the afternoon.
While you are tasting, be sure to walk around and explore the other vendors and find your next favorite treat, cheese, or bread while enjoying the musical talents of groups from around Northeast Texas. There are many great vendors ready to share their wares and food with visitors, so grab the whole family and head on out to the square.
Musical artists this year, Throw Away the Keys, Preston Barrett and the Hayes, a 50's and 60’s rock n’ roll cover band, and Duet Violin Liz. Also, there will be performances from Rise and Fly who will be performing at 2-2:30 p. m., 4:30-5 p. m., 6-6:30 p. M. Uncorked is excited to announce that the Sulphur Springs Downtown Business Alliance will be hosting an Art Walk on Main Street. Great news, you can carry your drink to Main Street as well. Just watch the signs and do not carry drinks past the barricades.
A very special thank you goes out to Ol’ Mad for hosting the annual sponsor dinner this year. Tickets will be available for next year, even if you are not a sponsor you can purchase a ticket to enjoy the amazing food created by Jon Chase and the Ol’ Mad staff. A special thanks to the title sponsors Muddy Jakes and Jay Hodge Chevrolet for giving back to the community and supporting Uncorked.
