Around Town ~ All Mixed Up

Change can be a catalyst to recovery and can lead you into a direction that has been traveled before. Our friends at All Mixed Up recently made a move back to Quitman to open up, a fresh retail space. Their new space is located at 108 East Goode Street in Quitman. Located right downtown just off the square, with easy walking distance to the rest of downtown Quitman. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday hours the same, possibly closing a little earlier, based on business.  You can always find out new information and get product updates on Facebook.

If you have ordered flowers from them before you can still do so. Their flower shop is still full service, with cute grab and go options in the shop. Lead time on flowers for a specific variety is 24 to 48 hours, but with designer choice flower arrangements have no lead time. You can still pick up your orders in Yantis, and they still have the same delivery area. You just have more options of items to purchase within a larger retail spot.

Mel has been arranging flowers for over twenty-five years, as well as plant and garden shop experience for over thirty years. She truly enjoys helping others in their time of need by adding comfort during a tragedy. Her goal is to make it easier for those who are experiencing hard times or tragedy.  Valentine’s Day is also a favorite.  It’s a day that is a lot of work but a lot of fun as well.

The new store front offers a variety of products. Graphic tees featuring musical groups, home decor, fresh flower arrangements, teas, candles and more. You can order company gift baskets for employees, good for holidays or celebrating birthdays. By far the favorite product she offers is Anna Candle. Homemade custom candles created in remembrance of her daughter.

When you come in your items can be gift wrapped for any occasion. Right now, Christmas is the most popular, but birthdays, valentines, and just because are always an option. Custom gift wrapping of your purchases adds that touch of class we all look forward to from a beautifully designed and curated boutique shop.

The next time you head down to Quitman, be sure to stop in at All Mixed Up. Do not forget you can also find them in Canton on First Monday’s.

Around Town ~ Everything Unique

For over 25 years Everything Unique has been a downtown Sulphur Springs staple. Ready to help you with all your home decor needs, and now so much more. At The Oaks Bed and Breakfast, Everything Unique helped us fill our shelves with beautiful items in our great room for guests to enjoy or purchase. As with life, Everything Unique has seen change over the years and has adapted to welcome in new products and services to help serve their customers.

Located at 124 Main Street in downtown Sulphur Springs, you can visit and shop six days a week, or 24/7 shop online at www.everything-unique.com. Steve and Carrie Nuckolls have owned Everything Unique for the last ten years and have been the driving force behind the changes made in store as shopping and dining habits of their customers have adapted over time.

With the addition of apparel in 2020, and the wine bar in 2023 Everything Unique offers customers a chance to shop for gifts, personal items, wine, and apparel in one location. You cannot forget their signature self-proclaimed tag line, The Christmas Store. One of my favorite pastimes is going in to see what each year’s theme will be and what their nutcracker selection will look like each year. Some of my favorite holiday pieces have come from Everything Unique over the years.

Bring your group of friends, men and women alike for a fun shopping trip to downtown Sulphur Springs to find the perfect item for yourself, a loved one or to enjoy a great glass of wine while browsing. Some of their best-selling items are related to the wine bar. The beautiful charcuterie boards, spicy bacon jam or cocktail mixers are crowd favorites. Do you want to up your charcuterie game, grab one of amazing cookbooks to better enhance your guest experience at your next dinner party.

Do you need a gift that will be loved at your next bunco or party night, look no further than their hilarious kitchen towels or devotional book selection. While upon first inspection the store might seem to cater more to women, there are great options for men in store as well. Especially if he loves to cook!

Everything Unique has many different opportunities for you or your group. Plan your next girl’s night out, or just because it’s Tuesday event. Their redesigned wine bar area is perfect for groups to get together and enjoy an evening of fellowship. With wine, beer, and charcuterie options available your group will be welcomed at Everything Unique.

Around Town ~ Millhollin

Downtown Sulphur Springs, Texas has a myriad of shops and dining opportunities for visitors to enjoy when dropping in for a visit, and we stopped into Millhollin for our “Around Town” visit this month. Located at 222 Main Street and open Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p. m, Millhollin is a unique shop that has been wonderfully curated with a diverse product offering.

Current owner, Charity Pepys, truly loves the customer service side of her business and finding items to fill the shop that sparks an interest for visitors. Her store is more about creating an experience when people come in and feel that they have stepped out of Sulphur Springs and into the city, or on to the board walk of an East Coast beach town. Each item offered in Millhollin is unique and original that brings meaning to the store and the customers who purchase the items.

The bulk of the items available is apparel, making up “timeless in the closet capsule wardrobe pieces.” These are items that individuals need for everyday wear and are easy to mix and match to complement what customers already have in their closets. Along with unique gift items, household essentials that are beautiful as well as functional, there are beauty, jewelry, gifts, and so much more.

Many of the items within the shop also have meaning outside their product line. Multiple companies, give back to charities that are meaningful to the current owners, while still offering quality products. Serving the community and supporting charities is at the heart of their business. Having a family history of retail store in a small community and from studying retail design, all her skills have helped to make Millhollin successful.

One of my favorite features of Millhollin is their store front windows. The front windows are always ready for the season. They reflect the store items and time of the year so well, I love to swing by and see what might be new in the window. If you have not been inside or seen the windows be sure to stop by and check it out.

We are sure that you will be able to find something for a loved one, teacher or spouse or friend. Each season holds something new, so be sure to drop by often to find your next great gift. A cook book, candle or a new pair of jeans to add to your wardrobe, maybe in your future.
